Strong horizontal and vertical lines are key to this design, not just in the treatment of the walls but the hedging, seating and form of the larger plants. While the specimen tree has a tiered habit, the other largest plant (right) is, in contrast, distinctly upright. The addition of clipped box around the stone seating area softens the line and helps the design to flow from hard to soft landscaping. Planting is deliberately kept simple, concentrating on different leaf forms and shades of green which create interest, yet a feel of uniformity. The dark greens of the vertical planting on the wall add another layer of green and soften the feel of the boundary

The neat square lawn area is offset by contrasting red heucheras set in dark paving. A wooden wall createe a backdrop to quirky, modern mini planters in bold contrasting colours.  Multiple layers of texture add interest: the dark green, clipped conifer hedge is a wonderful backdrop to a mass of bright pink flowers with fresh green foliage.

Pattern repeats always help to harmonise a garden, whether used in planting schemes or with furniture and hard landscaping. Here, the chairs provide the obvious pattern repeat, yet this technique is employed throughout with colours, paving and plant selection

Even in a relatively small space, don’t be afraid to make a statement. The steel structure makes a grand statement and creates quite an intimate feel in the garden. Its strong lines contrast pleasingly with the soft, low planting scheme beneath.

The natural textures of wood and stone both look beautiful and create a garden border. The textures are mirrored in chunky wood cubes and seating, while the stone of the raised beds gives a neat perimeter. Fountains of water surge up from beneath a black grid, adding movement, sound and a dash of the unexpected. The colour scheme is kept simple for both the hard and soft landscaping, with evenly spaced silver birch saplings to add height and a feeling of uniformity.

Maybe this can useful :)
